Are SoCast Websites Accessible?
All of SoCast’s current themes—2.0, Hero 1.0, and Theme 3.0—are designed to follow WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards. This ensures that our websites are usable and understandable for the majority of people, including those with disabilities.
While SoCast provides accessible themes and tools, it is the responsibility of website and content administrators to be familiar with accessibility standards and to use these tools to maintain accessibility. For example, administrators should ensure proper color contrast throughout the site. Although SoCast sets appropriate contrast levels by default, customization options are available, so it is up to the administrator to maintain compliance with color contrast requirements.
Other accessibility features include:
- Consistent navigation elements
- Accurate labels for form fields
- Headings in a logical order
- Alt text for images
Please note that alt text fields for images are intentionally left blank by default. It is the responsibility of you or your website administrator to provide descriptive alt text to ensure compliance.
By following these guidelines and using the tools provided by SoCast, you can help make your website accessible to all users.
