Best Practices For Maintaining Your App Developer Accounts

Best Practices For Maintaining Your App Developer Accounts

Maintaining your App Developer Accounts effectively is crucial for ensuring smooth app development and distribution. If any of these items are not updated regularly, this may result in your account being restricted or closed or your SoCast mobile app not working as expected. It can also cause delays when we're attempting to upload new app builds for bug fixes and enhancements. It is your responsibility to read and action all mail sent to the account holder from your App Developer account and to ensure your account is in good standing at all times. If you have a question about a notice, please reach out to our support team.

SoCast's only role in having access to your app developer accounts is to upload new app builds, and assist with updating app store information. SoCast does not update your account information, manage team members, review legal agreements or action or read any notices unless directly related to an app submission (i.e assisting with an app rejection or appeal).

Here are some best practices:

  1. Regularly Update Your Information: Keep your contact details, bank information, and tax details up to date to avoid any disruptions in payments or communications.
  2. Manage Team Members: If you're part of an organization, assign appropriate roles and permissions to team members.
  3. Monitor App Performance: Regularly check your app's performance metrics and user feedback.
  4. Stay Compliant with Guidelines: Ensure your app complies with all App Store Review Guidelines. (i.e no violence, gambling, nudity etc). This reduces the risk of your app being rejected during the review process.
  5. Use Strong Authentication Methods: Implement strong authentication methods, such as two-factor authentication one-time codes and passkeys, to secure your account.
  6. Review Legal Agreements: Regularly review and accept any new legal agreements or terms of service to ensure your account remains in good standing. Provide all legal information requested (i.e DUNS number, business information etc)
  7. Plan for Renewal: Keep track of your membership renewal dates and set reminders to renew your Developer Program membership on time. If this is not done, and your accounts are closed, there is no way to re-open or access them. Your apps may stop working or not be available in the app stores.
