CREATING A PREDICTIVE BRACKET IN FRANKLY (ENGAGE) CONTESTING

1. Login to your ENGAGE Suite Admin and select Contesting from the product dropdown in the
upper left corner.



Select your site from the Administering dropdown in the upper right corner.




2. Click the Create New Contest button. The button will expand to reveal the User Generated
Content, Sweepstakes, and Brackets buttons. Click the Brackets button, then click Predictive
Bracket.








3. You should now be on the Basic Settings page. This page is where you will enter some basic
information regarding the contest.





A. Contest Name - The Contest Name fi eld is where you can to enter a name for your
bracket contest that members will see.
B. Contest Description - The Contest Description fi eld is where you can enter a brief
description of your bracket contest. This will show on the contest list or if you publish
the contest to Facebook.
C. Contest Image - The Contest Image option allows you to upload an image to associate
with your bracket contest. This image will appear on the featured carousel on the
contest list page, if the contest is “featured”.
D. Contest Dates - The Contest Dates fi elds indicate how long the contest will run.
E. Picks Dates - The Picks Dates fi elds indicate how long users can make picks for the
contest.
F. The Prize being Given Away - The Prize being Given Away fi eld is where you enter the
name of the prize you’ll be giving away.
G. Total Approximate Value of Prize(s) - The Total Approximate Value of Prize(s) fi eld is where
you can set the dollar value of the prize.



4. The Bracket page is where you will customize your bracket by setting the number of competitors
and fi lling in individual competitor information.




A. Number of competitors - This field allows you to set the number of competitors that will be 
participating in the competition.
B. Contest Description - These fields are used to provide a name, description, and/or image etitor 
in the competition. Use the Prev or Next arrows to cycle through the
competitors within the bracket.

5. The Registration page is where you can customize the contest registration parameters.



The Registration Form contains a list of requirements you can apply for user registration.
The Primary Email and Password options are greyed out because they are required in every
scenario. The registration fi eld names can be further configured by clicking on them. You can add
additional fields by clicking the Add a Field button.
The Share Text for Twitter and Facebook box is the default text that will appear when users share
a contest on their Facebook or Twitter accounts. Note: If a user shares from the “My Brackets”page, it
will use a special message and link to their picks.
When you are finished with the Registration page, click on the Designer tab.


6. The Designer page is where you can customize how the contest page will appear.





A. Theme Selection - The Theme Selection slider is where you can pick from a set of premade
themes. You can customize a premade theme or not use one at all, but for this
exercise we will be using a pre-made theme.
B. Page Selection - The Page Selection dropdown is where you navigate between the
contest pages to make changes to the contest messaging (ie. a welcome message,
registration message, etc…)
C. Page Options - The Page Options dropdown allows you to make changes to what
appears on the contest pages. The Browser Title fi eld allows you to set how the browser
will title pages.
D. Style Options - The Style Options give you control over the specific stylistic elements
of your contest. For this exercise we will be using the default style options, but it is
recommended that you take time to experiment with these options to find a look that
you prefer.
E. Preview Window - The Preview Window allows you to preview your contest as you make
changes. To add content to a page, simply click on the area of the page that you wish to
add content.
F. Platform Preview Viewer - The Platform Viewer allows you how your contest will look
depending on platform. The options are Desktop, and Mobile.

Once you are finished designing your contest, click the Other Settings tab.


7. The Other Settings page gives you a list of assorted options for Email, Rules, Syndication,
Facebook, and Expert Options.





Email - The Email tab gives you some extra options regarding sending automated email messages.
The Email From Address fi eld allows you to insert an email address that your contest will appear
to come from. The Test Email to Address allows you to insert an address to send a test email to.
You can also set automated emails to be sent for the following events: Welcome, Entry Received,
and Winner Notification. The Available Tokens box provides a list of tokens you can use to
customize your mailings.
Rules - The Rules tab allows you to set the contest rules. You are welcome to use the
default rules, you can also modify them or insert your own rules. The Available Tokens box
provides a list of tokens you can use to customize your rules.
Syndication - The Syndication tab allows you to syndicate the contest out to other orgs that you
administrate.
Facebook - The Facebook tab allows you to configure the contest to post on your org’s Facebook
page. You must have admin rights for the Facebook page you are posting.
Expert Options - The Expert options gives you some advanced controls. The Header Code box is
where you can insert additional HTML code for tracking or analytics. The Example Header Code
box provides a list of examples of what type of content can go in the header code section. The
Meta Keywords box is where you can insert keywords for search engines to identify.
Once you are finished with the other settings, click the Review & Publish tab.


8. The Review & Publish page alerts you of any issues your contest may have. The Contest List
Settings allow you to set which link you’d like to present in the contest list. Click Publish Now once
you have reviewed everything.





Congratulations! You have successfully created and published a Brackets Contest!
