How Do I Configure Comment Settings for Blogs and News on My Website?

Important Note

  • Facebook moderation settings, such as adding a Facebook App ID, should ideally be managed by a Company or Station Admin familiar with the Facebook Developer Portal.

Overview

You can enable blog commenting on your website using either the WordPress commenting system or Facebook comments. Follow the steps below to configure your comment settings.

How to Access Comment Settings

  1. Navigate to Blogs & News Settings > Blog Comments.

Choosing a Comment Provider

  1. Provider: Select one of the following options:
    • WordPress
    • Facebook
    • Disabled
  2. If WordPress is selected: The WordPress commenting system will be displayed on your site.
  3. If Facebook is selected: The Facebook commenting system will be displayed using the Facebook Comments Plugin.

Configuring Comment Settings

  1. If WordPress is selected: Click the Configure Settings button and adjust your comment discussion settings on the next page.
  2. If Facebook is selected: Choose one of the following moderation options:
    1. No Moderation: All Facebook comments will be automatically approved and publicly viewable.
    2. All App Administrators Can Moderate Comments: Enter a Moderation Facebook App ID (created in the Facebook Developer Portal) and add Facebook profiles as app administrators to monitor comments.
    3. Only Specific Users Can Moderate Comments: Enter the Moderation Admin IDs of the Facebook profiles you want to allow to monitor comments. Enter one Facebook user ID per line. For more details, visit: Facebook Comments Plugin Documentation.
    4. How to Find Your Facebook User ID:
      1. Log into Facebook.
      2. Go to your profile (click your picture in the left navigation).
      3. Check the URL in the address bar (e.g., https://www.facebook.com/john.doe).
      4. Your user ID is the text immediately following the forward slash (e.g., john.doe).
