Can I download one of your apps now to see them?
Absolutely! Please reach out to us, and we'll find one that most closely matches your genre or needs.
I already have a mobile app, can I update it to a SoCast app?
Yes, if you have full access to the developer account it's currently in. For Android, you'll need the current developer to release the Key Store file.
My station is available in TuneIn or Radioplayer, why do I need a SoCast app?
Great question! A dedicated app for your station gives your listeners a way to listen, engage with and discover your content, and gives you complete control of the experience.
Do I need a SoCast website in order to have a SoCast app?
No. While having a SoCast website may make it easier to populate the app, it's not mandatory to have one. However, you will need to build some items within SoCast's platform such as the player, program schedule, activity streams, pages etc in order to display certain content.
Do I need an Apple or Google developer account?
Yes, you'll need to register your own accounts and pay their fees. For iOS, you'll need to enroll with Apple as an organization.
Do I have to get both iOS and Android?
No. You can purchase one or both.
Can my iOS app and Android app each have their own design / colors / menu items etc?
No. Both your iOS and Android app will pull from the same settings, menu, branding etc. They will look near identical.
Are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto supported?
Yes. Both Apple Carplay and Android Auto are available as additional add-ons.
Does your app offer push notifications?
Yes. We offer the ability to send out text, or text with a link push notifications that'll open within the app.
Does your app support podcasting?
Yes. When enabled, listeners can browse, stream, and download podcasts. You can use this to increase podcasts tune ins and sponsorship opportunities.
Can I preview the app on my device before launching?
Once the app menu, settings and branding have been set-up, we'll create a 'test build' which we will send to you for review and confirmation before submitting it.
How long will it take until my app is available?
We'll get you into our platform as quickly as possible so you can start setting up. You will also have a kick-off call with a SoCast Client Service Representive to discuss materials, expectations and timelines. There are also many other variables such as Apple and Google's review process, rejections, etc.
