Below are answers to some frequently asked questions about the new contesting system. If you don’t find your answer here, please contact the support desk.

1. Does the new system require a new permission?

Yes. SoCast can add this permission to Company Admins upon request. Company Admins can then assign it to the appropriate staff users.

2. Will the new contesting system affect my existing or currently running contests?

No. Your existing contests will not be affected.

3. Can I use both contesting systems at the same time?

Technically, yes. However, we recommend finishing your currently running contests before switching to the new system.

4. Will my existing saved WP Bakery templates be available in the new system?

Yes. Your WP Bakery templates will still be available.

5. Will I still be able to access assets from my old contests?

Yes. All contest assets are stored in the media library under the ‘Media’ tab.

6. Do I still need to add contests to a page with the Contest List widget?

Yes. You will still need to add contests to a page using the Contest List widget.

7. Can I still download entrant information?

Yes. To download entrant information:

  • Go to Promotions > Contests > Entries.
  • Select the contest in question using the search context field.
  • Export the entry information as a .CSV file.

8. Can I display media (e.g., photo entries) on the front-end of the contest?

No, not at this time. This feature will be available with Phase 2 enhancements.

9. How can listeners vote on contest entries?

To allow listeners to vote:

  • Create a poll using our Poll system under Website > Content Elements > Polls.
  • Insert the poll into the contest design area.

Note: We plan to enhance the polling system in future updates. Currently, participants can only vote once per contest poll.

10. Can I delete a contest entry?

This feature is not yet available. However, you can reject a contest entry by:

  • Going to Promotions > Contests > Entries.
  • Selecting the contest in question using the search context field.
  • Selecting the entry you wish to reject and clicking the reject button.

11. Can I use ‘Bulk Actions’ to edit or remove multiple entries?

No, bulk actions are not currently available. This feature will be included in Phase 2 enhancements.

12. How do I choose a winner?

You will need to manually select a winner from the contest entries and contact them directly. There is currently no winner button or option to display winners on the front-end of the website. These features are planned for Phase 2 enhancements.

13. Do listeners still need to sign in or sign up to enter a contest?

Yes. Listeners are still required to sign in or sign up to participate in a contest.
