How Do I Add Podcasts To My Website?

This article is for users who have an existing podcast on a 3rd party platform such as iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud etc.
Most 3rd parties suggest copying the RSS feed for the podcast, and adding it as a source to your website. However we're finding that many of these feeds do not include the actual audio content, and only a brief description of the epsiode. Our RSS subscription service only reads standard RSS feeds. Instead of using an RSS feed to add your Podcast to SoCast,  we suggest copying the embed code and adding it to your website via the 'Raw HTML' element. We've outlined some popular Podcast options below.

iTunes/Apple

iTunes offers players that can be embedded on your website. Once logged into your iTunes account, visit: https://podcasters.apple.com/market copy the embed code for either a single episode or the playlist, and add it to a page or blog using our 'Raw HTML' element.

You can also embed any 'public' podcast, by going to the Apple/Podcast page, clicking the 'share' icon and copying and pasting the embed code. You can edit the width and height within the code to get your desired size.





Spotify

Spotify allows you to embed any public podcast show page. It generally displays only the most recent episode from that podcast.
Once on the podcast page within Spotify, click the 3 dots, click 'share', click 'embed show' and copy the embed code. Add it to a page or blog using our 'Raw HTML' element. You can edit the width and height within the code to get your desired size.





Soundcloud

Soundcloud podcasts are setup similar to Soundcloud playlists. Similar to the other options you can embed a single podcast episode, or a playlist. You'll need to go to the public podcast page first, and copy the URL from your browser.
Within SoCast, use the Soundcloud element, and paste the URL that you copied in. This will only display the most recent episode on that page. Some podcasters, create playlists, if your podcast has a playlist option, go to the playlists tab, and copy the link for the entire playlist.
