How Do I Create a Sidebar in SoCast?

Follow these steps to create a sidebar that you can add to any page on your website.

Tips

• You must add your sidebar to a page before it will be visible.
• The sidebar width includes 10px of inner padding on the left and 20px on the right.
• If you want your sidebar to be 300px wide excluding padding, set your sidebar theme settings to 330px.
• Due to caching, it can take up to 10 minutes for sidebar changes to appear.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Go to Website > Website Structure > Sidebars.

   

2. Click the New Sidebar button.

3. Enter a title for your sidebar in the Title field.

4. Click Templates to select a pre-saved template for your sidebar (optional).

5. Click Add Widget to add elements to your sidebar, such as Text Block, Photo Gallery, Video Player, etc. (See the Text Editor and HTML Editor sections below for widget editing options.)

6. Text Editor

   1. Visual: Use the content editor to create, edit, and format your sidebar content in a word processor-like view.
   2. HTML: Add custom code to your sidebar using the HTML code box.

   1. Visual: Use the content editor to create, edit, and format your sidebar content in a word processor-like view.
   2. HTML: Add custom code to your sidebar using the HTML code box.

8. Publish

   1. Preview On: Preview your sidebar on web or mobile.
   2. Status: View the status of your sidebar (e.g., Draft, Published).

9. Options

   1. Player Type: Select one of the following from the drop-down menu:
      1. None: No player will be displayed.
      2. Artist Image Layout: Enable and set the Streaming Radio Player layout to "Artist Image Layout" in the sidebar.
      3. Program Info Layout: Enable and set the Streaming Radio Player layout to "Program Info Layout" in the sidebar.
   2. Other:
      1. Show Big Box Ad: Check this box to display the big box ad in your sidebar.
      2. Show "Last Played": Check this box to display the last played song list in your sidebar.

10. Choose either Save Draft to publish later, or Publish to make your sidebar live now.
