How Do I Re-Authorize My Facebook Token in SoCast?
How Do I Re-Authorize My Facebook Token in SoCast?
This article is for: All users with social permissions.
Requirements: You must have a Facebook profile connected and be listed as an Admin on the Facebook page you wish to post to.
When composing a Facebook post using the SoCast publishing tool, or when using the Monitoring Streams tool, you may occasionally be prompted to "re-authorize your Facebook token." This is required to connect with Facebook's API, allowing SoCast to post to Facebook on your behalf.
Example of a re-authorization warning:
"Your Facebook permissions have expired. Please re-authorize access to your Facebook account."
Step-by-Step Guide to Re-Authorize Your Facebook Token
- Click the Authorize button when prompted.
- You will be redirected to Social > Social Settings. Under the Personal section, click Reconnect Facebook.
- If you have previously connected your account, a pop-up will appear reminding you that SoCast is already linked to this Facebook account. You will be asked if you want to continue with your previous settings.
- In some cases, after clicking the re-authorize button, you will be redirected to Social > Social Settings.
- If your Facebook account is still connected, click the Reconnect Facebook or Remove button under your name below Facebook/Instagram.
- A popup will ask you to confirm your actions. Click Yes or OK for each prompt.
- One of the prompts will be: "Are you sure? Removing this connection will remove all scheduled posts associated with this account and its pages."
- If prompted, confirm that you have previously linked SoCast to Facebook and choose whether to continue with your previous settings.
- You can click Edit Settings to add any additional Facebook pages or permissions you may need. Ensure all necessary permissions are checked.
- Alternatively, click Continue as [Your Name] (the blue button) to reconnect your settings as they were previously.
- After reconnecting, you should see your profile and all Facebook and Instagram pages reconnected under Social > Social Settings.
- Click Save to complete the process.
Your Facebook token is now re-authorized, and you can continue posting to Facebook through SoCast.
