How Does the Cancellation Listing Contributor Option Work in SoCast?
You must have the Manage Local Listings & Cancellation Listings Settings permission to use this feature.

One of the most requested features from our broadcasters has been the ability for community members to contribute to and manage their own cancellation listings. With SoCast, you can now invite a contributor to become the author of a specific cancellation listing.
As an author, the contributor can make changes to or delete the listing. When a contributor is invited, they receive an email with instructions on how to manage the listing. This feature is ideal for school administrators, business owners, or other community members who need to update their own information.
The contributor will receive a temporary password at the email address you provide, granting them access to the CMS portal to manage the cancellation listing.
- Contributors can manage more than one listing at a time.
- Only one author can be assigned to each cancellation listing.
Step-by-Step Guide for Contributors
- Once a contributor has been added to a listing, ask them to check their email (including spam or junk folders) for their temporary login credentials.
- They should click the link in the email, which will take them directly to the cancellation listing post.
- After logging in, they can edit the Status (for example, set it to 'Closed') or update the listing details as needed.
- Click Save to apply any changes to the listing.
Invitation Email Template
When a new contributor is added, they will receive an email with instructions. Below is the template for the invitation email:
Hello,
{Staff Name} has invited you to manage the listing ‘{Listing Name}’ on the website {Website Name}. To manage and edit your listing, please follow the instructions below:
1. Go to {Website URL}/login
2. Log in using {Contributor Email} and your generated password {Generated Password}
3. Go to {Listing URL}
4. Edit the ‘Status’ (e.g., ‘Closed’) or the listing details
5. Click 'Save'
