How Do I Resolve "Invalid Data Safety" Notices for Google Play and Android Apps?

Requirements
- You must have access to your company’s Google Play Console account.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Log in to your Google Play Console.
- In the left menu, scroll down and select App content.
- Navigate to Data safety > Manage.
- On the overview page, click Next.
- Answer the following questions:
- Does your app collect or share any of the required user data types? Select Yes.
- Is all of the user data collected by your app encrypted in transit? Select Yes.
- Do you provide a way for users to request that their data is deleted? Select Yes.
- Which methods of account creation does your app support? (Optional) Select all that apply. We recommend choosing Username & Password.
- Add a link for users to request account and data deletion: (Optional) We recommend adding the following information to your privacy policy in your account’s legal settings. Then, copy and paste your Privacy Policy URL into the provided box.
Request To Delete Information:
Any user with an account can delete their information at any time. When logged in via the app or website, members will see an “account deletion” option available, which will permanently delete their user profile.
- Go to: https://enterwebsiteurl.com/login
- Log in with your member credentials.
- Go to: https://enterwebsiteurl.com/settings
- Click "Delete Account Permanently".
- Confirm with the prompt button.
- Your account is now permanently deleted.
- Do you provide a way for users to request that some or all of their data is deleted, without requiring them to delete their account? (Optional) Select No.
- Go to Device or Other IDs, check the box, and click Next.
- Check Device or other IDs and manage it.
- Answer the following questions:
- Is this data collected, shared, or both? Select Collected.
- Is this data processed ephemerally? Select Yes.
- Is this data required for your app, or can users choose whether it's collected? Select Users can choose whether this data is collected.
- Why is this user data collected? Select App Functionality.
- Save your changes.
- Click Next and save again.
- Your app will be submitted for review and, once approved, will be released by the Google Play team.
