How to Set Up and Use Insertion Order Approvals?

The approval process for insertion orders (IOs) in SoCast Reach is a crucial step in the campaign lifecycle, ensuring proper authorization before a deal moves to campaign booking.

Who Approves?

The permission to "Approve Campaign Insertion Orders" is assigned to specific roles. This permission allows a user to receive and approve insertion order requests so the campaign can be booked.
  1. Sales Leaders: Typically have this permission by default.
  2. Enterprise Sales People & Campaign Managers: It is recommended that both sales people (Sales Reps) and Campaign Managers at the Enterprise level are granted this permission.
    1. For sales people, this allows them to approve IOs on behalf of advertisers.
    2. For Campaign Managers, this enables them to seamlessly make quick, in-flight campaign changes.
  1. Plus and Pro Sales People: For Plus and Pro clients, this permission should typically remain disabled for sales people.

The Approval Workflow

  1. Proposal Creation & Pitch: A sales person begins by creating and pitching a digital marketing proposal to the advertiser.
  2. Marking as Sold: Once the advertiser approves the proposal and the deal is closed, the sales person proceeds to the platform and clicks the 'Mark Sold & Review Insertion Order' button. This action advances the campaign to the 'Insertion Order Awaiting Approval' stage.
  3. Review and Approval:
    1. If the sales person has approval permission: (Typically for sales leaders or Enterprise roles), they can directly review the insertion order within the platform and approve it themselves. This streamlines the process by allowing the sales person to immediately move the IO to the next stage.
    2. If the sales person does not have approval permission: The designated Sales Leader automatically receives a notification that an insertion order is awaiting approval. They must then navigate to the platform, thoroughly review the insertion order, and approve it.
