Overview

The list below covers the most common error messages that can appear in Social Streams on the Social page. Not all possible errors are documented, as some may result from changes or issues with Facebook and Twitter.

For each message, you’ll find what it means and the recommended steps to resolve it.

Common Error Messages and Fixes

  1. Not Logged In: You are not logged in. Refresh the page to log in again.
  2. Updates Available, Please Refresh The Page: New updates are available. Refresh the page to see the latest content.
  3. Invalid Stream ID: The stream ID was not sent as part of the request. Refresh the page to resolve this issue.
  4. Missing Stream Type: There was a problem retrieving the stream information. Refresh the page to try again.
  5. Missing Stream Source: There was a problem retrieving the stream information. Refresh the page to try again.
  6. Stream Not Found: There was a problem retrieving the stream information. Refresh the page to try again.
  7. Invalid Stream Type: The stream type is not recognized or not supported.
  8. Stream Type Not Found: The stream type is not recognized or not supported.
  9. Facebook Account Not Connected: You need to reconnect your Facebook account. If the reconnect modal does not open automatically, go to Personal Settings > Social and reconnect your Facebook account.
  10. Error: Rate Limit Exceeded: Twitter’s rate limit has been exceeded, likely due to too many actions or updates at once. Please wait about 15 minutes for the limit to reset.
  11. Error Over Capacity: Twitter is overloaded and not responding. Streams will update automatically when Twitter is able to process new requests.
  12. Sorry, Your Query Is Too Complex. Please Reduce Complexity And Try Again. You Can Reduce Complexity By Removing Filters, Keywords, Hashtags And/Or Mentions From Your Search: The Twitter smart stream query is too complex. Simplify your search by removing filters, keywords, hashtags, or mentions.
  13. Error: A generic error occurred when retrieving the stream, often due to API issues (e.g., internet disconnected, server error). Refresh the page to try again.
  14. Facebook And Twitter API Errors: Additional errors may be returned directly from Facebook and Twitter APIs. These are not all documented here.
  15. There Was A Problem Deleting Your Stream, Please Try Again: An issue occurred while trying to remove a stream. Try again as suggested.
  16. There Was A Problem Changing Your Stream's Settings, Please Try Again: An issue occurred while editing a stream. Try again as suggested.
  17. Unable To Delete: Unable to delete a post from a stream.
  18. Unable To Update Status: (Inbox stream) Unable to update the status of an item in the stream (e.g., approving a post).
  19. Unable To Hide Facebook: Unable to hide a visitor post on a Facebook page.
  20. Unable To Like/Unlike Facebook: Unable to like or unlike an item on Facebook.
  21. Error: Generic error for actions (for example, opening the dropdown for Twitter likes failed, or clicking a dropdown item failed).
