How Do I Set Up Default Contest Settings in the New SoCast Contesting System?

• All users with 'Promotions' permissions

To set your default contest settings, including limitations and legal requirements, navigate to Promotions > Contests > Contest Settings in your SoCast admin panel. These settings will apply to all contests unless specifically changed for an individual contest.

Appearance

• Sidebar: Configure the appearance of the sidebar on all contest pages. This setting inherits from the 'Default Sidebar' in your website settings. Set to 'inherit' to use the default sidebar settings.

Entry Limitations

Set the default entry limitations for all contest entry actions. These can be customized for specific entry actions within the contest editor if needed.

• Default Entry Frequency: Set the maximum frequency that entries can be made for all entry actions. Weekly entries reset on Mondays.
• Default Approval Required: Set to 'Yes' to require approval for all entry actions. This is useful for verifying submissions and/or displaying certain entries in the contest entries list widget.
• Default Members Only: Set to 'Yes' to limit entries to signed-in members for all entry actions.

Legal

Configure the rules and restrictions for all contests:

• Set the default contest rules shared by your entire company.
• Set the contest rules specific to this account.

Notifications

Set up default notifications for staff regarding all contests:

• Default Notify On Contest Entry: Sends a notification when an entry is received for any contest.
• Default Emails To Notify: Enter one email address per line to receive all contest notifications (e.g., user@email.com).

These default settings help streamline your contest management and ensure consistency across all your station's contests. You can always customize settings for individual contests as needed.
