How Do I Add Entry Requirements to a Contest in SoCast?

Follow these instructions to add entry restrictions and requirements to your contest in SoCast.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Go to Promotions > Contest in your SoCast dashboard.
2. Ensure you have already added your contest's content. For instructions on creating a contest, see: How Do I Create a Contest?
3. Navigate to the Entry Requirements tab.

4. Add entry restrictions for your contest. You can restrict entrants using the following conditions:

   • Age Restrictions: Set a minimum or maximum age for contest entry.
   • Location: Restrict entries by location. You can specify city (e.g., Toronto, Ontario), state/province (e.g., Ontario, Canada), or country (e.g., Canada).
   

5. Entry Fields: Define what media or information entrants must provide to enter the contest. For example, to require entrants to upload their favorite YouTube video, select "Video" as the media type and enter "My favorite YouTube video" as the label. Click the + button to add additional fields to your contest.

   
   • Music: Allow users to upload an .mp3 file.
   • Video: Allow users to submit a YouTube link.
   • Photo: Allow users to upload a photo.
   • Text: Allow users to write in a small, medium, or large text field. This is typically used for answering questions, captioning content, or submitting a story.
   • Story: Allow users to submit a story or personal experience.
   • Pulldown: Provide users with a dropdown menu of multiple options for a question.
   • Checkbox: Add a checkbox for users to agree to specific terms or conditions.
6. Click the Save and Continue button to proceed to the next tab.
