What Are the Advertising Guidelines for Cannabis (Sensitive Ads)?
The following guidelines are general best practices and may vary based on local regulations. This is not an exhaustive list.
Permitted Ad Types (Conditional)
- B2C sale or promotion of medical or recreational cannabis products (flowers, edibles, oils, extracts)
- B2B products (growing equipment, labeling, etc.)
- Investment opportunities
- Pipes and bongs
- Grinders, rolling papers, and other cannabis accessories
- Delta THC products (considered cannabis)
Prohibited Ad Types
- Forums that promote drug tips or drug use
Requirements for Cannabis Advertising
- Advertisers must be licensed or hold valid permits for services in the targeted country
- Apply age targeting for users 21+
- Advertisements must not glamorize cannabis or claim health benefits
- Advertisements must not appeal to young people
- No association with nicotine, tobacco, alcoholic products, or accessories
- No association with motor vehicle use or activities requiring significant skill or care
- Implement age verification before accessing the landing page
