From time to time you may experience an issue with Activity Streams not updating. This can happen for several reasons including:
3rd party social networks being down or experiencing issues with their API.
A password for a social account was reset.
A token became invalid.
You lost permission or do not have the correct permissions to connect via the API.
What Can I Do If Facebook Is Not Updating In The Activity Stream?
Log into Facebook.com and confirm you are listed as an Admin within the page roles for the Facebook Page you wish to add to the Activity Stream. If you are not listed as an Admin, you cannot connect that Facebook Page to your social settings and/or activity stream.
Go to Social > Social Settings and confirm you can see the Facebook page in your settings that should be appearing in the Activity Stream. If you do not, see Step 1.
Click the ‘Reconnect Facebook’ Button OR remove your Facebook account and re-add it.
Go to Social > Activity Streams > All Activity Streams, Click into the Activity Stream that is not updating, and remove and re-add the Facebook page. If it won’t allow you to do so, this means you do not have the correct permissions. See Steps 1 & 2.
Once you have refreshed your Facebook settings and/or refreshed the Activity Stream, please post to that Facebook page. This will kickstart the API. Wait 10mins for the cache to clear, you should then see your Facebook post.
Things to note :
Sponsored or paid posts do not appear in the activity stream.
Facebook page must be set to public without any restrictions or it also will not appear.
Posts that are shared from other Facebook pages will not appear.
What Can I Do If Instagram Is Not Updating In The Activity Stream?
Make sure the Instagram account is set a “Business Account”
Make sure it’s connected to a Facebook Business page
Make sure both that Facebook Business page and the Instagram account are added under social > social settings
Try removing and re-adding your Instagram account in your social settings to reset the token
Try removing and re-adding the Instagram account in the Activity Stream under Social > Activity Streams, Click into the stream. If you cannot remove it, you do not have the correct permissions, see steps 1 & 2.
Once you have refreshed your Instagram settings and/or refreshed the Activity Stream, please post to that Instagram page. This will kickstart the API. Wait 10mins for the cache to clear, you should then see your Instagram post.
What Can I Do If Twitter Is Not Updating In The Activity Stream?
Go to Social > Social Settings and make sure you see the Twitter account added
Try removing and re-adding the Twitter account
Try removing and re-adding the Twitter account to the Activity Stream, under Social > Activity Streams, Click into the stream.
Once you have refreshed your Twitter settings and/or refreshed the Activity Stream, please post to that Twitter feed. This will kickstart the API. Wait 10mins for the cache to clear, you should then see your Twitter post.
