Why Can't I See Highlighted Text When Selecting in the SoCast Engage Web Builder Using Chrome or Other Chromium Browsers?

This issue is due to a recent update in Chromium-based browsers (such as Chrome, Edge, and Brave) that overrides the styles previously implemented by WordPress in the Gutenberg editor. As a result, when you select text in the SoCast Engage Web Builder, the highlighting indicator appears transparent, making it seem like the text is not selected. However, the selection functionality still works.

Workarounds:

  • You can still select and highlight text, but the highlight will not be visible. Use keyboard shortcuts (such as Ctrl+A on Windows) to select all text, or use the arrow keys to navigate between words.
  • If you need to see the selection, consider switching to a non-Chromium browser such as Mozilla Firefox (Windows) or Safari (Apple devices), where this issue does not occur.
  • Alternatively, you can switch from the visual editor to the code editor in SoCast Engage by clicking the three-dot icon in the top-right corner and selecting Code Editor. This may make it easier to view and edit your content.

Our team is aware of this issue and may consider a future update to address it. In the meantime, the above workarounds should help you continue editing your content.
