How Do I Organize Blog Categories and Contest Posts on the Homepage in SoCast Engage?
You can control how blog categories, contest posts, and RSS feed content appear on your homepage by adjusting your homepage settings.
To Add or Edit Blog Categories in the Homepage Feed:
Go to Website > Pages > All Pages.
Search for your Homepage (or the section you want to edit, e.g., “Headlines”) and click Edit.
Switch to the Backend Editor and select the Blog List widget.
In the widget settings, scroll down to find the option to select Blog Categories.
Add or remove the categories you want to display (e.g., “Featured,” “Rock News,” “New Releases,” “Interviews,” “Concert Photos,” “Homepage Featured”).
To change the number of posts displayed, adjust the Number of Posts setting (e.g., from 5 to 8).
To remove the date or author from a feed, look for these options in the widget settings (if available).
Click Save Settings, then Update to apply changes to the frontend.
To Display Contest Posts on the Homepage:
Contests use their own widget type. To make sure contests appear on your homepage:
Go to your Homepage in the backend (Website > Pages > All Pages).
Open the section where you’d like contests to appear.
Add the Contest List widget, then edit.
If you have a specific Contest category, select it in the widget settings.
If you do not have a category, just make sure to select "All Contests" and all contests available will be posted.
Save and update the page. Using the Contest List widget ensures contests are displayed properly on your homepage.
To Remove or Separate RSS Feed Content:
If RSS feed posts are showing on your homepage but you only want local content:
Option 1 – Remove: Edit the Blog List widget on your homepage and deselect the RSS feed category so it no longer appears.
Option 2 – Separate: Create a new section on your homepage (e.g., “Rock News”). Add a Blog List widget, then select the RSS feed category so these posts appear in a dedicated section instead of mixed with your local blogs.
Note: If you do not see the options described above or do not have access to the required page, please contact SoCast support to request the necessary permissions.
