Configuring Triton Streams in SoCast

Configuring Triton Streams in SoCast

NotesIf you are using Triton as your streaming provider, you must select Triton Stream as the stream type on the Radio Stream Settings page. To access this setting, navigate to Player > Radio Stream > Radio Stream Settings, then change the Stream Type to Triton Stream.

Proper configuration of the Triton settings is required for features such as HLS streaming, GEO targeting, companion ads, and player session tracking to function correctly.

Required Configuration

Station Name and Station Mount

Triton provides two different stream identifiers:

  • Station Name = Station ID + Wave Type

  • Station Mount = Station ID + Wave Type + AAC

These are different stream types, and you may not always have both available.

Enter the values provided by Triton into the corresponding fields within the Radio Stream Settings page.

Triton Player Sessions and GEO Targeting

To use Triton Player Sessions and GEO Targeting, you must enter your Station Numeric ID.

Important

  • The Station Numeric ID must be obtained directly from Triton.

  • GEO Targeting will not function without a valid Station Numeric ID.

HTTP Live Streaming (HLS)

SoCast supports HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) for Triton streams.

Requirements

  • A valid Station Name must be configured.

  • HLS does not work with Station Mount values.

If HLS is enabled and only a Station Mount is provided, playback may not function correctly.

Adaptive Audio

SoCast also supports Triton's Adaptive Audio feature.

What is Adaptive Audio?

Adaptive Audio automatically adjusts the stream bitrate in real time based on network conditions. This helps:

  • Reduce buffering

  • Improve playback stability

  • Optimize the listening experience on slower connections

Requirements

Adaptive Audio is a paid Triton feature. You must contact Triton and have Adaptive Audio enabled on your account before it can be used within SoCast.

Triton Companion Ads

If you are using Triton Companion Ads, enable the companion ad option within the player settings.

When enabled, companion ads will appear below the player controls as an additional ad placement.

Supported Ad Sizes

  • 728 × 90

  • 320 × 50

Important

These are not VAST companion ads.

Triton Companion Ads are associated with Triton's in-stream audio advertisements and function separately from standard website display ads.

GEO Targeting for In-Stream Ads

If you are using Triton in-stream advertising and would like to enable GEO Targeting:

  1. Enable GEO Targeting in the player settings.

  2. Enter your Triton Station Numeric ID.

Without the Station Numeric ID, GEO Targeting will not work.
