How Do I Manage Subscribers and Groups?

Subscription Groups

Groups let you organize your subscribers so you can send the right content to the right people — instead of emailing your entire list every time.

  1. Go to Promotions → Email → Subscription Groups.
  2. Create a group for each audience you want to be able to target separately (for example: "Weekly Newsletter," "Contest Winners," "VIP Listeners").
  3. When you build a campaign, you'll choose one or more of these groups as recipients (see How Do I Create and Send a Campaign?).

Viewing and managing subscribers

  1. Go to Promotions → Email → Subscribers to see everyone on your list — searchable and filterable by group and status.
  2. Click into an individual subscriber to see their group memberships and status (subscribed, unsubscribed, bounced).

Adding subscribers one at a time

Go to Promotions → Email → Subscribers, then Add New Subscriber, enter their email (and any other details you collect), assign them to a group, and save.

Importing a list of subscribers

Go to Promotions → Email → Subscribers, then Import Subscribers to upload a CSV of subscribers in bulk and assign them to a group.

Before importing any list, talk to your Account Manager first. New or inactive lists go through a quick check to protect deliverability — see Switching From Your Previous Email Provider if you're moving from another platform, or contact your Account Manager if you're starting a new list.

The import screen shows a summary once it's done — how many were imported, updated, or skipped — so you can confirm it went as expected. If you need to undo a recent import, contact your Account Manager.

Exporting subscribers

Go to Promotions → Email → Subscribers, then Export Subscribers to download your current list. This is useful for your own records or if you ever need to move to a different tool.

How someone gets removed from your list

  • They unsubscribe. Every campaign includes an unsubscribe link automatically — anyone who clicks it is removed from future sends right away.
  • Their email bounces. If an address hard-bounces (i.e., it doesn't exist or can't receive mail), it's automatically suppressed so it won't be emailed again — this protects your sending reputation.
  • They mark an email as spam. This also results in automatic suppression, for the same reason.

You don't need to do anything manually for any of the above — it's handled automatically to keep your list healthy.
