How Do I Set-Up An RSS-To-Email Feed For One Of My Blog Categories?
This Article Is For: Users with Blog Category Permissions
Requirements: These instructions are for Mailchimp only. You must already have a Mailchimp account.
Mailchimp's RSS to email feature automatically pulls in content from your feed and delivers it to your contacts on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Step-By-Step Guide
- First, you will need to create a signup form for your website. You can learn more about how to create one here: https://mailchimp.com/help/add-a-signup-form-to-your-website
- Once the form is ready, you'll need to embed it on a page on your website. We suggest creating a VIP/Members page, with some information on what they get when they signup, and the benefits of signing up.
- Learn how to create a page here: https://support.socastdigital.com/portal/en/kb/articles/how-do-i-build-a-page-for-my-website
- Once you start to see signups to your form in Mailchimp, you're ready to start sending out notifications for blog posts.
- You must already have a blog category created in SoCast. You can find instructions on how to create a blog category here: https://support.socastdigital.com/portal/en/kb/articles/blog-categories
- You will need to find your blog category RSS feed URL.
- You can find this by going to Website > Blogs > News Aggregation.
- Scroll down to Flipboard and copy the blog category RSS URL located in the table that says "Category RSS".
- It will look similar to this: https://radiostation.com/category/breaking-news/feed
- Next go to: https://mailchimp.com/features/rss-to-email and log into your Mailchimp account.
- Fill in your campaign name (we suggest the name of the blog category) and select your audience. (This audience will be from the Mailchimp form you created at the beginning)
- Next, add your RSS feed URL, and select when you want your posts to go out. We also recommend selecting the "resize RSS feed images to fit template' option.
12. Next, choose who you are sending it to. For assistance with creating segments or tags, please reach out to Mailchimp support.
13. Complete the rest of the email campaign form, and save.
