How Does the Activity Stream Promo Post Work in SoCast?

SoCast Activity Streams are used to connect and engage your audience, while creating opportunities for your brand or sponsors to engage with their potential customers through promotional ads/posts. Promoted posts help amplify your message to a wider audience to drive more engagement with your brand or sponsors content.

Promo posts appear in activity streams on both the mobile app and desktop. Only users with the 'Manage Activity Stream Promo Posts' permission will be able to access this feature.

  • This is applicable to all SoCast Themes

Features:

  • Drive website traffic by asking users to click on your best content
  • Offer coupons and deals

  • Promote sales and giveaways

Tips:

  • To create a promoted post/ad, start by writing a compelling piece of content, such as the announcement of an upcoming concert, event or contest your station is hosting.
  • Make sure to include an image to drive higher engagement.
  • Make sure to include a 'Call To Action'

Step-by-step guide

  1. Go to: Social>Activity Streams> Promo Posts
  2. Click ' Add Item '





  3. Name : Add a name. Name is a required field






  4. Image : Upload an image from your computer



  5. Message : Add a message to accompany your promo post. Message is a required field.



  6. URL : Add a URL if you wish to direct users to somewhere specific.




  7. Start Date : Select a start date for when you want the promo item to appear



  8. End Date : Select an end date for when you want the promo item to end




  9. Weight : Select a weight out of 100. All values for current promo posts will be normalized by the API. This value determines how often a particular post will appear in the promo post slot. ( Ex. if you have two promo posts with a weight of 50 each, they will appear equally often. However, if you have two promo posts one with weight 75 and one with weight 25 then the first post will appear three times as often as the second. )
  10. You can see a list of: Current , Scheduled and Expired promo posts, by clicking on the corresponding tabs.


  11. To edit a promo post click on the ' pencil ' icon beside your promo
  12. To delete a promo post click on the ' X ' icon beside your promo
