How To Add An Internal RSS Feed To Your Website (Internal Blog Categories)

  1. Speak with a website or company administrator to confirm they have already allowed for syndication for their blog category, on the blog category editor page.
  2. Then, go to Website > RSS Subscription Settings (if you do not see Syndication Settings as an option, please speak with your website or company admin, who can edit your permission)
  3. Then go to Sources
  4. Under available sources use the ' Add Internal Feed ' drop-down to choose which syndicated blog categories you want to add to your website. In this drop-down you will see every single blog category that has been given syndication permission from every single station within your parent company.
  5. Once you've chosen a category, click the 'Add Feed' button, you should now see the syndicated blog category listed as a 'Subscribed Source'

How To Add An RSS Feed To Your Website

  1. Go to Website > RSS Subscription Settings (if you do not see Syndication Settings as an option, please speak with your website or company admin, who can edit your permission)
  2. Then go to Sources
  3. Click 'Add New'
  4. On the next page, add your RSS feed in the 'RSS Feed URL(s)' section. Subscribe to RSS feeds to pull blog posts from. RSS feeds must be provided as a valid and publicly accessible URL . Please remember to confirm permission for using any RSS feed and/or editing the RSS feed content to avoid usage violations and/or copyright infringements. Enter one RSS feed URL or website URL per line. If a URL links to a website which provides multiple feeds, the first one listed will be used. Feed URL format varies by feed provider, e.g. https://www.url.com/path/feedname.xml , itpc://www.url.com/path/feedname.rss
  5. Once added click the blue 'subscribe' button. You'll be redirected to the 'sources' page. Make sure your RSS feed is checked off, and click on 'subscribe to selected sources'
  6. You should now see it in the 'sources' list below.
  7. Then go to your page where you want the articles to display
  8. Add a blog/news widget
  9. Select the RSS category
  10. and fill in the rest of the details, such as items to display etc.

How To Add A Premium RSS Feed To Your Website

Note:

  • This is a premium add-on that requires activation from your SoCast Account Manager before it will be made available.
  • For a live example of the premium feeds, please see: https://d1698.cms.socastsrm.com/premium-news-feeds
  • The feeds update every 24 hours, from the last update. If you go to the sources section, you'll see a a 'next' time for when the feed should update next. There is no option for 'force' an update for the premium feeds.
  • Also, just because a feed has updated, does not mean you'll see new content. You'll only see new content, if that feed has new content to display.
  1. Go to Website > RSS Subscription Settings (if you do not see Syndication Settings as an option, please speak with your website or company admin, who can edit your permission)
  2. Then go to Sources
  3. Click 'Add New'
  4. Go to: Premium RSS
  5. Click 'Subscribe' beside the premium rss feeds you wish to use/add. You should see a 'subscribed' status after subscribing
  6. Go to the page you wish to add the feed(s) to, and add the blog/news widget
  7. Select the feed(s) under the 'categories' section in the widget
  8. Fill in the rest of the widget details, click 'save'
  9. Save/update page
