Follow these instructions to set up your contest phases and their dates in SoCast's legacy contesting tool.

Step-by-Step Guide

There are four different types of contest flows you can choose from:

  1. Entry > Judge > Winner
    (This is the only option for a Sweepstakes contest.)
  2. Entry > Vote > Winner
  3. Entry > Vote > Judge > Winner
  4. Entry > Judge > Vote > Winner

Once you have selected a contest flow, fill in the required fields for each phase.

Contest Flow Selection

Below is an example of the Entry > Vote > Judge > Winner flow:

  1. Entry: Allows entrants to sign up for the contest.
    • Heading: To change the entry heading from the default, click the text box. This is a required field.
    • Description: Click the [Edit Description] button to update the description.
    • Start Date: The date contest signups begin.
    • End Date: The date contest signups end.
    • Check the box if you want entries to be approved before qualifying for the contest.
    • Set how often people can sign up for the contest:
      • Hour
      • Day (24 Hours)
      • Week (7 Days)
      • Month (30 Days)
      • No Limit

    • Start Date: The date user voting begins.
    • End Date: The date user voting ends.
    • Set how often people can vote:
      • Day
      • Contest
    • Specify the number of finalists to be selected by votes.

    • Start Date: The date judging starts.
    • End Date: The date judging ends.
    • Specify the number of winners to be selected by judges.

  4. Winner: The date when contest winners are announced. Winners selected by judges must be confirmed before being posted to the website. To confirm winners, click the "Confirm Winners" button in the "Judging" tab after all selections are complete.
    • Heading: To change the winner heading from the default, click the text box. This is a required field.
    • Description: Click the [Edit Description] button to update the description.
    • Date: The date the winner is selected.
