Why Isn't "Sessions" Included in the Executive Report?

The Executive Report provides key metrics to help you understand your app's performance. Here's what each metric means:

  • Views: The total number of times your app has been viewed by any user.
  • Users: The number of unique users who have viewed your app.
  • Sessions: The number of times a unique user has viewed your app without leaving, within a specific time frame.

We chose not to include "Sessions" in the Executive Report because the definition of a session can vary between analytics tools. For example, some tools define a session as a unique user viewing your app within 5 minutes, while others use a 10-minute window. This inconsistency can make sessions difficult to interpret and explain.

If you want to measure overall engagement with your app, we recommend using the "Views" metric. To measure your app's total reach, use the "Users" metric.
