What is a pixel/tag and what is the purpose of it?

A pixel, (also called a tag) is a small piece of code that is placed on your website to help track user behavior. Its main purpose is to collect data—like who visited your site, what pages they looked at, and whether they took an action like filling out a form or applying for a job.

This data is incredibly valuable because it helps us:

  1. Measure how well your campaign is performing, (also track conversions, like a sale, or form submissions)

  2. Retarget people who visited your site but didn’t take action, and

  3. Build lookalike audiences to find more people similar to those already engaging with you.

It’s an essential tool in digital advertising to make sure your budget is being spent as efficiently and effectively as possible.
